This issue of MDS Subjects (volume 16, issue 47) contains more than the usual number of records. Approximately 530 subject authority records with the heading Handicapped or other headings that include the term "handicapped" were recently changed to People with disabilities or similar headings such as People with mental disabilities, Artists with disabilities, etc. These headings will appear in the Library of Congress Subjects Headings Weekly List #46
(see http://aj.sunback.homes/catdir/cpso/cpso.html#subjects ).
Projects will be undertaken to update bibliographic records with the old forms of headings during the next year. Subject headings in individual bibliographic records will be changed on a case-by-case basis as the records are updated for any reason.
