About this Collection
The Mass Communications Web Archive provides resources for researchers studying how communication is distributed in the United States.
The archive includes sites that address how information is shared and consumed, including, but not limited to, websites on advertising, history of journalism, and citizen journalism, and, thus, enhances the Library’s analog collection of print media, such as newspapers and periodicals, by providing content that observes the transfer of information to audiences and consumers of news media.
The multidisciplinary archive was created to ensure the preservation and collection of digitally produced publications and non-traditional forms of mass media and journalism unavailable elsewhere. It also includes the websites of academic and professional organizations and websites specifically addressing underrepresented groups and subjects in the communications field.
