    Join us for a self-guided story walk featuring “My N.C. from A to Z,” written by Michelle Lanier (2020 Great Reads pick). Participants complete activities along the walk that reflect upon how North Carolina culture has shaped who they are today.

"The Edge of Anything" by Nora Shalaway Carpenter

Len is a loner teen photographer haunted by her past, and Sage is a high school volleyball star desperate to find a way around her sudden medical disqualification. After a chance encounter, the two develop an unlikely friendship that enables them to begin facing their inner demons. Set in the North Carolina mountains, “The Edge of Anything” (Running Press) explores grief, mental health and the transformative power of friendship.

Nora Shalaway Carpenter currently lives in Asheville, North Carolina. She is the contributing editor of the acclaimed YA anthology “Rural Voices: 15 Authors Challenge Assumptions about Small-Town America.” “The Edge of Anything” is her debut novel.
