Locations in Palestine include Ramleh (Ramlah), Jerusalem, Siloam, Nazareth, Bethany, Hebron, Rām Allāh, Bethlehem, Jericho, Jaffa, Bethsaida, Samaria, Shechem (Nablus), Shumen (Sulam) and Mar Saba. Geographical features such as the Plain of Jericho, the Jordan and Dan Rivers, the Dead Sea, the Brook Cherith, the Valley of Merom and MountTabor, Mount Hermon, and the Mount of Temptation are also depicted. Damascus and Bāniyās in Syria, and Beirut and the ruins of Baʻlabakk in Lebanon are also shown. In Istanbul, mosques, fountains, streets, ruins and people are depicted in the neighborhoods of Galata, Ortaköy, and other places. The Monastery of St. Catherine and Mount Sinai are shown in the Sinai Penninsula. Notable images include Holy Week ceremonies, the Nebi Musa procession, and the interior of a synagogue in Jerusalem; the "Jewish Quarter," Galata bridge, and street markets in Istanbul; the Greek Patriarch at Bethlehem and portraits of Russian and Abyssinian pilgrims, Arabs, Jews, Turks, Samaritans, Bedouins and others.

All images can be viewed at a large size when you are in any reading room at the Library of Congress.
