Summary
- Photographs from various photographers, show sculptures, particularly in the classical style. Subjects include Cupid, Psyche, female Greek slaves, Peace, Athena, "Paul and Virginia by Cumberworth," "Old Mortality and His Pony," by John Currie, "Freedom" the sculpture now on the United States Capitol dome, "Little Red Riding Hood," "Uncle Ned's School," by John Rogers," and the "Dreaming Iolanthe," a butter study exhibited at the Women's Pavillion at the Philadelphia Centennial Exhibition of 1876. One stereo shows a sculpture in front of a mirror to enhance the three-dimensionality of the stereo image. Another, from S.P. Christmann's "Occupation Series," shows someone, possibly a child, working as a sculptor in a studio. Three stereos show sculpture rooms at the Academy of Design in New York and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Lastly, one stereo shows a sculptor, identified as W. Bailey, working on a statue of Benjamin Franklin for the Franklin Market in Philadelphia.
