Summary
- Photographs show individual portraits of four Civil War veterans seated indoors. Album includes signed typescripts describing their war experiences. The veterans are: Abraham T. Brewer, a sergeant in Company A of the 61st Pennsylvania Volunteers at the Battle of Gettysburg; George H. Foster, a corporal in Company A of the 124th regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry at the Battle of Chickamauga; George C. Ashmun, a second lieutenant of the Union Light Guard (Seventh Independent Company of Ohio Volunteer Cavalry), who was a bodyguard of Abraham Lincoln; and John T. Hoak, a Corporal in Company E of the Third Pennsylvania Heavy Artillery who was assigned to guard Jefferson Davis after his capture by Union forces.
