- Chiefly photographs of McAllister family members, including a group portrait of "John A. McAllister" and "Thomas H. McAllister" identified as "The Pirates", residences, and places of business in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Also includes churches (Gloria Dei Church and the Old Lutheran Church (St. Michael's)), cemeteries, including the grave of John McAllister, Senior, commercial street scenes, the "German Lutheran Schoolhouse" on "Cherry Street below 4th" in Philadelphia, the "Philadelphia Dispensary" with coach on the street in front, and other buildings. Includes one gelatin silver reproduction of an albumen stereograph of William Young McAllister in his store in 1859, two halftone prints showing John McAllister, Sr. and John McAllister, Jr., albumen reproductions of portrait paintings by James Peale of John McAllister, Sr. and Mrs. Frances W. McAllister, also a calling card for "Mrs. John McAllister" and a cover tab torn from a carte-de-visite display enclosure or envelope on which is printed "Established 1796. McAllister & Brother, Opticians, 728 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia".
