About this Item

Title

  • Houdini waves $10,000 in bonds : [Boston American article, December 30, 1924].

Summary

  • This article and photographs from the front page of the Boston American, December 30, 1924, describes Houdini's $5,000 challenges to the medium "Margery" and to a Harvard professor who believed her psychic powers were genuine. Houdini offered to forfeit $5,000 if he could not expose Margery as a fraud, and to pay the amount to the psychology professor if the latter would consent to be thrown into the river in a weighted packing case, as Houdini himself had been in one of his most sensational escapes.
