V 1899 g. uchrezhdeno Krasnoi︠a︡rskoe Vol'no-pozharnoe obshchestvo, kotoroe vystroilo na plat︠s︡ pozharnoĭ ploshchadi depo, zakupilo pozharnyĭ transport, inventar'. Funkt︠s︡ionirovala i polit︠s︡eĭskai︠a︡ pozharnai︠a︡ komanda. No kak v li︠u︡bom provint︠s︡ial'nom gorode, v Krasnoi︠a︡rske pri tushenii pozharov prodolzhitel'noe vremi︠a︡ primeni︠a︡li konnyĭ khod s bochkoĭ dli︠a︡ vody.

  • -  На протяжении двух с половиной веков Красноярск пережил три опустошающих пожара: в 1735, 1773, 1881 годах. В 1856 г. в городе была создана полицейская пожарная часть. Во второй половине XIX в. существовали две пожарные части, которые не обеспечивали должных противопожарных мер. В 1880 г. открыто Вольное пожарное общество, просуществовавшее до 1883 г. (после пожара 1881 г. общество осталось без средств). В 1899 г. учреждено Красноярское Вольно-пожарное общество, которое выстроило на плац пожарной площади депо, закупило пожарный транспорт, инвентарь. Функционировала и полицейская пожарная команда. Но как в любом провинциальном городе, в Красноярске при тушении пожаров продолжительное время применяли конный ход с бочкой для воды.
