Summary

  • This item is from a collection of photographs documenting the First West Siberian Agricultural, Forestry, and Industrial Trade Exhibition, which took place in Omsk in 1911. The exhibition was held from June 15 to August 1 of that year, and was a significant event in the life of the Siberian region. Nothing on this scale or this level of ambition had ever been staged in Siberia. The collection includes photographs of the exhibition organizers, general views, and images of pavilions, exhibits, prize-winning livestock, crowds at a musical event, and even an aviator and his airplane. Also included are drawings made by the engineers and architects for several of the pavilions. The photographs provide insights into the economic and social development of Siberia in the early 20th century and show a dynamic and self-confident region. The collection is preserved in the Omsk State Museum of Regional History and Folklife and was digitized for the Meeting of Frontiers digital library project in the early 2000s. Экспонировались орудия для обработки почвы: кустарные и заводские сохи, сабаны, плуги, культиваторы, окучники, картофелекопатели, бороны, лугорезы и прочие.
