Title
- Angel. The joint bank account
Other Title
- Joint bank account
Summary
- Angelique, known as Angel, moves from France to the United States to marry American architect, John Smith. The newlyweds set up housekeeping in Los Angeles, California. She tries her best to be a good housewife but sometimes runs into problems as she learns English and adapts to her new life and culture. In this episode, Johnny and Angel have opened a joint bank account. Johnny is suprised to see that Angel has written many checks, though none for more than a few dollars. He encourages her to write fewer checks for more cash. She is reluctant, but after she overhears Johnny and George talking about investing in the stock market, she and Susie hatch a plan to save Johnny from what they fear will be a bad investment. She writes a check to Susie for $5,000.00, which Susie deposits in her joint checking account without telling George. By the time Johnny discovers their savings is gone, George has invested his unexpected windfall. When the stock goes up, he thinks he is a rich man. Unfortunately, a dismayed Susie had already told their stock broker to cancel the purchase. Johnny and Angel get their money back, and though no one has gotten rich, no one has lost any money either.
