Notes
- - Title and notes from Annenberg Space for Photography exhibit spreadsheet.
- - Caption continues: This corset is sewn tightly onto her body and worn until marriage. The height of the beaded projection at the back reveals the wealth of her family and the price for her hand in marriage. This girl's family required 80 head of cattle from her suitor. The devastations of civil war in Sudan and the subsequent infiltration of Christian and Muslim values have made the wearing of corsets a tradition of the past.
