- - Hector Herrera is a painter graduated from the Academy of San Carlos who lives in Ensenada where he has the Center for Residences and Artistic Research and the Petanque Gallery, inspired by the game played in France and Spain. His stay in Spain and the journey that took him through Central and South America, to Chile, have been important in his training. Its Residence Center is an open space that receives artists from other places, where young people complement their training in painting, both in technique and craft, with plans to expand to sculpture and engraving. It has living spaces, for residences of 3 to 5 months, a workshop and its gallery. Applicants compete with projects. In 2002 he won first place in the XXI National Award for Young Art.
