- - The Rio Carnival lasts four days in which Samba schools compete appointment to occur, and in which the city receives visitors from around the globe. The festivities involve people of all ages and social classes, which makes it an event that promotes inclusion. The Rio Carnival revolves around the role of Samba schools in the parade. The samba schools are popular organizations working all year to prepare the parade. Each school chooses a theme that represent them, to be a resource to bring and share the historical memory of the country from an artistic and cultural approach. Carnival gives its inception in the Marques de Sapucai Sambadrome, with the opening of the celebration through the coronation of King Momo by the prefect. The main event will be the parade at the Sambadrome by Samba schools. However, we can find a number of street events and private parties for all tastes. The Samba first appeared in Bahia in the late nineteenth century, it was a dance style brought by African slaves and the rhythm of Candombe was danced.
