About this Item
Title
- Patton's War, 1942-1944
Summary
- Kevin Hymel has served as a historian and writer for the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force for the last fifteen years and is a regular contributor to WWII History and WWII Quarterly. He is the author of a book based on Patton's photograph albums in the Library's collections. As a historian and tour guide for Stephen Ambrose Historical Tours, he has walked with veterans over the European fields on which Patton's troops fought and died. This live book talk, which will take place during Live at the Library evening programming, will address both the content of Hymel's biography of Patton, and the process by which he identified, used, connected, and interpreted the Library's collections in his work. A tabletop display of collection material from the Manuscript Division and other curatorial divisions preceding the talk will showcase the Library's unparalleled holdings on the history of World War II, including letters, diaries, and photographs from the George S. Patton Papers.
