Notes

  • -  Interview with Amada Curling and Sylvia Contreras-Mas, co-owners of V.B.F., a garment cutting and sewing contractor business.
  • -  Summary of audio segment: SC-M says, In their mind, in the New York people's minds, the distance is big between Paterson and New York. But once they deal with V.B.F., they feel it's not a problem any more. Because we service them the way they want. So it's a problem when you start, but then it's okay. So at first, they don't call you right away, it's difficult to start [a business relationship with them], but once they get the service, and they realize Paterson is not in the jungle, then it becomes much easier. SC-M says they still have to work a little harder, though, than New York contractors, because have to make sure that the distance is not an object, a problem. Because they can turn around at any time and give the business to New York people. So our turnaround has to be quicker, so they don't feel they're losing time giving their business to Paterson. And they're doing that, and keeping their customers happy. The quality, speed, and service is there.
