Praised for “vision and vibrant virtuosity on stunning display” (Gramophone), the young, London-based Marmen Quartet is fast establishing itself as one of the most engaging talents in the chamber music world. Winner of first prizes at the Bordeaux and Banff International String Quartet competitions, the group is appearing at top venues that include the Boulez Saal and the Berlin Philharmonie, and major festivals in Amsterdam, Barcelona and Stockholm. In this concert they feature Canadian composer Cassandra Miller’s intimate, luminous Leaving and masterly quartets by Haydn, Debussy, and Bartók.
