Notes
- - Significance: This building's architectural and historical significance is derived from its contribution to the Ybor City National Historic Landmark (NHL) District, designated in 1990. Ybor City is a section of Tampa founded and built by Vicente M. Ybor and Ignacio Haya as a cigarmanufacturing center and town. This company town was planned by Gavino Gutierrez to include cigar factories, workers housing, public spaces, and commercial buildings. This district is significant for its association with Ethnic Heritage (Hispanic) and Industry. The Ybor City National Historic Landmark District retains examples of late-nineteenth century and early-twentieth century domestic, religious, commercial, and industrial buildings associated with the community of Ybor City. Most of the buildings have architectural features or other characteristics that display their unity with the distinctive ethnic traditions of Tampa. The period of significance for the NHL District is 1886-1940. The ca. 1920 residential building at 2502 North Twelfth Street is a contributing resource to the Ybor City NHL District. The resource retains the integrity to convey the nationally significant story of the community that lived and worked in Ybor City.
