  • George Walker (1922-2018) was an American composer and pianist. In 1975, he was commissioned by the Hans Kindler Foundation for the brass quintet Music for Brass. The Music Division holds a holograph score in the Hans Kindler Foundation collection (https://lccn.loc.gov/2016570574). In 1988, he was commissioned by the Koussevitzky Music Foundation in the Library of Congress for the composition Sinfonia No. 2 for Orchestra. The Music Division holds a holograph score (https://lccn.loc.gov/90753583). In 1998, he received a second Koussevitzky Foundation commission for the woodwind quintet Wind Set.
