August 28, 2025 Library of Congress National Book Festival Teams Up with C-SPAN’s Book TV to Showcase Nonfiction Literary Voices
C-SPAN to Present Live Sessions, Interviews from 2025 National Book Festival -- Live Coverage Begins at 9 a.m. ET on Saturday, Sept. 6

For the 25th year, C-SPAN’s Book TV will return to the Library of Congress National Book Festival as a media partner to present select events and interview featured non-fiction authors.
Partnering with the Library of Congress, Book TV will be live and on-site from the Walter E. Washington Convention Center on Saturday, Sept. 6, bringing the 2025 National Book Festival to a national television audience.
As an original media partner of the National Book Festival since its founding, C-SPAN's Book TV is contributing the following for this year's event:
- Live coverage of author interviews and panel discussions.
- Live call-in interviews with nonfiction authors on location from the festival.
- 20,000 totes promoting both the Library of Congress and C-SPAN's Book TV available to festival attendees.
- Public access to its video coverage via C-SPAN's online archives at C-SPAN.org.
- A dedicated website for this year's National Book Festival coverage, with video as well from prior years: https://www.c-span.org/liveEvent/?national-book-festival-2025.
The National Book Festival was founded by First Lady Laura Bush and then-Librarian of Congress James Billington 25 years ago, and, along with the Library of Congress, C-SPAN's Book TV has been providing live, in-depth, uninterrupted coverage of the event since it began on Sept. 8, 2001.
Book TV's extensive coverage of nonfiction authors appearing at the National Book Festival kicks off the network's coverage of book fairs held throughout the country in the fall.
During a full day of LIVE coverage on C-SPAN2 on Sept. 6, some of the featured authors and interviews include (presented here in alphabetical order):
