Zimmerman Associates, Inc. (ZAI) was founded in 1977 as a library services and information management company and has a 40+ year history of successfully enhancing both traditional and virtual libraries for our Federal Government customers through flexible staffing, responsive management, and innovative approaches that help them navigate and adapt to a rapidly changing information landscape.

Our vast library experience includes managing, operating, and supporting Federal Civilian agency, Department of Defense (DoD), and commercial libraries�to include cataloging, inventory, collections maintenance, patron services, research/reference services, outreach, and special projects. Currently, ZAI supports Federal library and information center contracts at FEDLINK/Library of Congress (LC), National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Library of Medicine (NLM), Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Department of Justice (DOJ), Government Publishing Office (GPO), U.S. Mint, and the Department of Education (DoEd).

We are experienced working with and cataloging legal collections and handling special materials for FCC, DOJ, GPO and the U.S. Mint. ZAI�s support is managed through an integrated approach that provides all core and non-core services, incorporates proven techniques, monitors production and quality deliverables, and follows our ISO 9001:2015-certified quality processes.

Products/Services Available Through the FEDLINK Contract

ZAI performs the full range of physical, virtual, and core library services, and has played a key leadership role in helping Federal libraries transform to modern digital information and resource centers, making vital information assets easily accessible and relevant to user communities.

FEDLINK�s Library customers will benefit directly from ZAI�s 43 years of experience providing innovative, solution-oriented, cost-effective management of full-service libraries, departments, and programs and projects, as well as our long history of providing technical and operational expertise in all types of library management systems and library web development.

We provide collection services to include circulation, document delivery, ILL, electronic resources, shelving, filing, inventory, material handling, and packing/shipping. We also provide data services, including bibliometrics, statistical analysis, digital preservation, digitization support services, and SQL/R/Python.

We provide the services, training, and outreach essential to help patrons conduct independent research and find reference materials; and we provide technical services, such as cataloging/metadata, digital asset management, physical processing, metadata, taxonomy, indexing, and acquisitions.

We also provide physical processing services, such as applying accession numbers and property stamps, creating circulation cards, affixing pockets for circulation cards, generating and affixing barcode labels, applying barcode and detection strips, and removing fasteners.
