Musser, this film featured the cast of Charles Hoyt's musical burlesque, "A milk white flag," which mocked the state militias that savored their snappy uniforms and male camaraderie. Sometime after the farce's New York premiere on Oct. 8, 1894, the cast traveled to the Edison studio and appeared in at least five films.
