December 9, 2025 Special Operating Hours, Dec. 2025-Jan. 2026

The following is the holiday and special events operation schedule, including building closures for inclement weather, for the Library of Congress for December 2025 through January 2026:

Wednesday, Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve)
All Library buildings will be CLOSED.

Thursday, Dec. 25 (Christmas Day)
All Library buildings will be CLOSED.

Friday, Dec. 26
All Library buildings will be CLOSED.

The Library’s public spaces and reading rooms will operate as usual during its regular hours Saturday, Dec. 27 through Tuesday, Dec. 30.

Wednesday, Dec. 31 (New Year’s Eve)
Buildings will be open to visitors with timed-entry passes. All reading rooms will close at 5 p.m.

Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026 (New Year’s Day)
All Library buildings will be CLOSED.

Monday, Jan. 19, 2025 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday)
The Thomas Jefferson Building will be open to visitors from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. All other Library buildings will be CLOSED.
