• This discussion details collaborative efforts of national and local literary partners on “Poetry in Parks” initiative, part of former U.S. Poet Laureate Ada Limón’s signature project “You Are Here.” Presenters discuss the development and implementation of the initiative, which placed site-specific poetry installations in seven national parks across the country, as well as visits and programs developed with local literary partners in three participating parks. Presenters include Limón as well as representatives from (in order): the Library of Congress; The Field Office; the Poetry Society of America (national partner); Wick Poetry Center (local partner, Cuyahoga Valley National Park); O, Miami (local partner, Everglades National Park) and the University of Arizona Poetry Center (local partner, Saguaro National Park). Recorded as part of a presentation to the Poetry Coalition, a national alliance of nearly 30 poetry-focused organizations.
